Mclean Basement Remodel Reveal
The Home:
A well-built, custom house that is 17 years old and not designed to the clients’ specific taste.
The Opportunity:
A propitious water leak in the basement that damaged the carpeting and walls in the walk-out basement that had never been redecorated.
The Goal:
Create an open space where the family could entertain friends, listen to music, watch sports, play games and create privacy for short-term guests.
The Priority:
Tackle removal of several round traditional columns under soffit, a dark cherry wet bar with peninsula, and a separate light-filled room used mostly for gaming. Additionally, create more space for a media and gaming room.
Wishlist Updates (Budget Permitting):
Ceiling lights, fireplace facade, powder room, exercise room flooring & mirrors, and a guest suite including a full bathroom refresh rounded out the project scope.
All designs should improve flow, function as intended, and create more spaces to enjoy.

FAMILY ROOM
The Family Room was updated with:
- New stacked stone wall
- Updated fireplace surround
- New window treatments & rug
RECREATIONAL GAME ROOM
To create a larger Recreational Game Room we removed a wall and captured the space from the adjacent computer gaming room. We added a new drink/snack ledge creating an area to sit and watch games.
THEATER & GAMING ROOM
To create the new Theater & Gaming room, we finished a storage area and installed 3D tile walls. The posters and accessories are influenced by the clients' son.
WET BAR & SEATING AREA
The updated Wet Bar area includes a stacked stone focal wall, new island layout with stools, and new pendant lighting and lighted shelves.
New expandable tables provide overflow seating & the perfect spot to play board games.
Custom cabinetry in the bar area provides ample storage for kitchen necessities and games.
GUEST BEDROOM
The Guest Bedroom features all new furnishings, soothing bird wallpaper & new window treatments.
Updated Guest Bathroom with tile floor, vanity, mirror, lighting, and new tile shower.
POWDER ROOM
Updated Powder Room new wallpaper, vanity, mirror & lighting to harmonize with the color scheme of the wet bar area.
HOME GYM
The Home Gym with updated with new paint, flooring, & mirrors.
