‘Tis the start of the holiday season! We love this time of year and all of the family gatherings, get-togethers with friends, and of course festive food and decor! Inevitably as we prepare for the events of the holidays, a bit of panic might creep in from time to time if you feel rushed or that you may have forgotten something (horrors!). As a pre-holiday gathering, our team sat down together to brainstorm and create this list of 10 helpful tips for a stress-free holiday season.

We were asked to add some seasonal touches to the brand new luxury apartment building’s public spaces including their lobby, cyber cafe, resident lobby and mixology room. Sandra Hambley solved this week’s design dilemma in the Washington Post’s House Calls column. The objective of the House Calls column is to provide homeowners with budget friendly decorating solutions that they can complete themselves.
Sandra has created several designs for House Calls, typically for rooms that the entire family will use, but this time Sandra was asked to create a floor plan with furnishings and accessories shopping list for a tween boy’s bedroom. Caeden, who lives with his family in Kensington, had some specific ideas for his room’s design. For colors he requested purple and teal, and he really wanted……
It’s really fun to start with a blank canvas and that’s exactly what we did on this project. In just six weeks, our client was going to be moving into her new home in Ashburn and she wanted our help to create the contemporary style home she had in mind. Although the time frame was short, we were able to find furnishings, window treatments, art and accessories, paint the entire house, install wallpaper, and other specialty treatments in time for the family’s move in date.
