In just six weeks, our client was going to be moving into her new home in Ashburn and she wanted our help to create the contemporary style home she had in mind. Although the time frame was short, we were able to find furnishings, window treatments, art and accessories, paint the entire house, install wallpaper, and other specialty treatments in time for the family’s move in date.

In just six weeks, our client was going to be moving into her new home in Ashburn and she wanted our help to create the contemporary style home she had in mind. Although the time frame was short, we were able to find furnishings, window treatments, art and accessories, paint the entire house, install wallpaper, and other specialty treatments in time for the family’s move in date.

This new home, located in Ashburn’s popular One Loudoun community, is a three-level home with an open floor plan on the first level and in the basement. Our client wanted a consistent gray color palette with pops of color throughout the home. To make the space feel happy and inviting, colorful accessories and artwork are found throughout.

The first room you see upon entering the home is the office. Here we selected a desk with curved legs and a desk chair with unique curved arms. The furnishings in this room are stunning and have beautiful details such as the nail head trim on the two geometric upholstered side chairs.

This house has a lot of great windows! On the main level there are three large picture windows and an oversized sliding door in addition to a few other standard size windows. The homeowner knew that she would be raising and lowering her window treatments daily, so we installed motorized shades for every window. Simply push the button on the remote and voila!

In the kitchen, we installed textured wallpaper behind the built-in shelves surrounding the refrigerator and accessorized the shelves with colorful dishes and glassware that the client had found.

We also added wallpaper in the dining room to create a focal wall. A glass top rectangular table pairs well with sleek black leather dining chairs. Counter height gray leather stools provide a seat at the kitchen island for more casual meals.

In the living room, a large sectional and side chair with a great textured fabric provides comfortable seating. The fireplace wall was tiled and flanked with large, sleek mirrors to create a strong focal point in the room.

The minute you descend the stairs to the basement you know you are entering a fun space. The striped walls are really cool and create a great environment for the kids to play and hangout with friends. It was important for this area to appeal to young children to teenagers so we selected a super comfy sectional and a mid century modern white lacquer table and chairs for playing games, crafting or doing homework. And did you notice the oversized arched floor lamp? Very cool!

On the upper level, bedrooms are decorated to reflect the individual. In the master, a sparkling chandelier and mirrored front nightstands brings some glitz and the muted grays in the bedding, window treatments and artwork are both romantic and relaxing.

The boy’s bedroom was painted blue and red to create the backdrop for all the great custom airplane wall art.

The girl’s bedroom is accented with pink window treatments, art and accessories.

A loft doubles as a homework area with built-in desks and a TV viewing space. Both have a custom floor tile rug in bright colors.
