JANET AURORA

Janet Aurora, of Oak Hill, Virginia, is a professional interior decorator and designer. For more than 21 years, she has served clients located in the Northern Virginia area. She is a national design-award winner in categories such as best overall room design, best theme room and best accessorizing. Her interior designs have also been shown in the Washington Post and the Washington Times.
As the company’s top sales designer, she has been able to extend her design training beyond the United States to France and study with internationally acclaimed designer and author, Mary Gilliatt.
The wealth of her team’s design experience runs the gamut from contemporary to transitional to traditional styles, which makes her an asset in any interior design project. As a mother of three, and grandmother to 2 with a 3rd on the way, Janet is familiar with the needs families have for their interior living spaces – whether it’s room for children to play, teenagers to socialize with friends, or for all to relax as a family. Her clients love their spaces because they are functional and easy to care for, and still offer high design aesthetics. She explains, “I work with my clients to combine principles of design such as color, textures, and symmetry, with furnishings that they like. This ensures an environment that suits their taste and leaves them absolutely delighted. After all, they will be the ones living in the home, not I.”
Prior to her interior decorating career, as a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute with both a Bachelor’s degree and an MBA, Janet enjoyed a successful 14-year career as a Systems Consultant followed by a few years home-raising children. Janet’s background in business has enabled her to carefully hone her customer service skills that she incorporates into her concept of interior decorating.
In her free time, Janet loves spending time with her family. Sundays are spent cooking big family dinners which 4 generations of family members enjoy. Early weekday mornings you will find Janet lifting weights, going for a run or getting some Pickleball in. Most evenings you will find Janet sitting at the piano learning new pieces or studying piano theory.
Although Janet often works on repeat and referral business, she loves the challenge and excitement when working with new clients. You may reach her at 703-608-1885 to discuss your project.
