Sandra Hambley left a corporate position with a dynamic, financial services company to launch Signature Design Interiors over 15 years ago. In a short time, she has successfully grown a team to include specialized interior decorators for both residential and commercial projects, space and organization experts, and seasoned designers of kitchens and bathrooms.

The company’s ability to source an extensive line of custom furnishings, window treatments, lighting, carpeting, and accessories cannot be matched. In addition to pre-construction fixture selections, space planning and creation of an integrated color palettes, the company began with and is probably still best known for turnkey interior decorating services from design concept through complete implementation.

The focus of every project and interaction is client input, feedback and satisfaction. The team’s project management skills are unparalleled in design, order placement and follow up, scheduling and leading contractor appointments through the set up and delivery of all furnishings and accessories. This standard has earned the company Best of Houzz for six consecutive years, and over 50 five-star reviews.

Sandra and many on her team completed study of advanced design concepts with internationally acclaimed author and designer Mary Gilliatt in the US and France. To promote entrepreneurship, she has taught business and decorating classes at Prince George’s County Community College in Maryland and Fairfax County in Virginia. She also is a supporter of the charity ChildHelp, and a member of several organizations that promote women in business.

Sandra and her husband, both natives of western Pennsylvania and graduates of Pennsylvania State University, have lived in Fairfax County for over 25 years. They have two young boys and stay busy with a full calendar of seasonal trips and activities that revolve around sports, including the family’s favorite teams the Washington Nationals and Penn State. Highlights of every year include a summer trip to Bethany Beach, visiting family in Europe and various parties.
